Today, with the world mind turned inside out and exposure to its complex and seemingly chaotic workings bombarding our every sense, it is easy to feel an overwhelming urge to simply burst from the information swell. We look for ways to clear our minds, to feel lighthearted…happy. There are options. Nature is a great respite…music…dance…a good book…and ART…aaahhhhh…..art. The collaborative paintings created by Laura Beatty and John Fehling do just that…soothe the soul. The imagery takes one into a fairyland filled with the very best of what is. Flying figures sail across bright cobalt skies. Natures’ critters ride on the shoulders of angels and round faced children play in gardens where birds and bugs are tucked in flower blossoms. A magical connection occurs when the viewer explores these whimsical images. There is a charge that begins to propel the mind into its very own imagination, lifting up to reacquaint with the original self. The two artists joined talents in 1983 after graduating from Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida. For the next 20 years they traveled around the country marketing their work through art festivals and galleries. In 2003 they decided to end the collaboration and move back into individual artistic development, thereby leaving a body of work reflective of their journey into life’s universal themes of love, family, and transcendence. Available now are giclees of 48 paintings and etchings that span two decades of collaboration between Beatty and Fehling. Printed on watercolor paper using archival inks, every piece has been carefully scanned and color corrected to retain the integrity of the original image. All giclees are reviewed by the artists to insure quality. You are invited to take a moment for yourself. Peruse the gallery and take flight into your own imagination. See you up there……
